Social Mamas successfully launched in April 2009 and is marketed to moms in the Hamilton Area. It is an online social community where moms are able to create profiles, post photos/videos to share, and sign up for Social Mama events that occur throughout the Hamilton area.

Pregnant with her first child, Monica went online to try and find a mom's group in her area where she could share in her upcoming adventure of parenthood. She wanted a place to go where she could post pictures of her growing family, read articles on parenting, chat with other moms in the area and plan things to do with these new friends.

Not being able to find all of these elements on one site, Monica decided to start her own after the birth of her son. Although they say you should sleep while the baby sleeps, Monica worked on building the Social Mamas website! With the help of her incredible husband (and sugar for those late nights), the site was up and running in a couple of weeks.

About Monica
Monica's main passion is working with children. After working in the school system and running her own preschool, her and her husband started their family.

One part of Social Mamas that Monica loves are planning the events. She uses her knowledge of children and love of teaching to plan fun and educational events for moms and their children.

Monica's other passions include bellydancing and helping others in the community. A former Mrs. Canada, Monica has worked with a variety of charities and also started her own. She enjoys incorporating charity work into the Social Mamas events.
